International Women's Day 2026 theme is 'Give To Gain'

When we give, we gain.

The IWD 2026 Give To Gain Campaign encourages a mindset of generosity and collaboration.

Give To Gain emphasises the power of reciprocity and support. When people, organisations, and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women increase.

Whether through donations, knowledge, resources, infrastructure, visibility, advocacy, education, training, mentoring, or time, contributing to women's advancement helps create a more supportive and interconnected world.

At Audley we are proud of the many homeowners who generously give their time to charitable efforts.

Tatiana International Women's Day 2026

How we celebrate women internationally

Audley team member, Tatiana Popa shares her experiences growing up in Moldova in Eastern Europe.

In my family, the morning would often begin with my dad quietly taking over the kitchen. While mum enjoyed a well-deserved rest, he would prepare breakfast, filling the house with the comforting sounds and smells of a meal made with care. It was his way of showing gratitude for everything she did throughout the year.

As the day unfolded, flowers would begin to appear. My dad, my brother, and sometimes close friends would arrive carrying colourful bouquets, each one a simple but heartfelt symbol of appreciation. I grew used to seeing the table slowly fill with fresh flowers - bright tulips, delicate roses, and cheerful spring blossoms. Those bouquets made the day feel joyful and celebratory, turning ordinary moments into lasting memories.

International Women’s Day itself has a powerful history. The day emerged in the early 20th century from labour and equality movements in Europe and North America, where women gathered to demand better working conditions, fair pay, and the right to vote. Over time, it grew into a global occasion recognising the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women in every part of society.

Tatiana in Moldova

In Moldova, the celebration carries a very personal and family-centred feeling. It is not only about history or recognition on a global scale; it is about kindness, gratitude, and the tradition of showing appreciation through thoughtful gestures. For me, the flowers, the breakfast my dad cooked for mum, and the visits from loved ones made every 8th of March feel like a small festival of appreciation - one that celebrated the women in our lives in the most heartfelt way.

In celebration of #InternationalWomensDay 2022, we took a moment to talk with Laura Allen and Tanya Ashby who both work within senior positions at Audley.

Over recent years there has been significant progress (and even more in the present day), but it is important to share the challenges that women can still face in the workplace.

What changes have you seen throughout your career in the workplace to support women?

The introduction of companies reporting their gender pay gap was a step in the right direction, but now we need to see more action to address the discrepancies.

What piece of advice would you give to a younger version of yourself?

Stand up for yourself and say what you think. It took a while for me to feel confident enough to express my opinions, now my team can’t shut me up!

What challenges have you faced in the work due to being a woman?

It sounds like a small thing, but I’d love to see more male team members taking meeting notes. It’s so often women, regardless of who’s running and attending the meeting. I’m organised and will ensure actions are circulated but it doesn’t mean I should be the default note taker.

What changes have you seen throughout your career in the workplace to support women?

There have been many changes during my time at Audley that I have identified that support women, this includes training opportunities and initiatives such as Menopause Awareness sessions and the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Committee

Biggest female influence?

Beyoncé Knowles – despite being an entertainer she has an inspirational skill set and mind set. She demonstrates how as a woman you can be a leader, an inspiration, a success while also having the choice to also be a mother, daughter and/or wife.

What piece of advice would you give to a younger version of yourself?

Be brave, be courageous and follow in the footsteps of all the amazing females that have paved the way for us.
